Painting with Apples

Painting with Apples

This last week we’ve focused on apples as our theme for my home day care.  Here is a really simple craft that’s loads of fun.  Cut some apples in half and then cut a little handle on the back side.  Give the children a few paints (I used red, yellow and green-apple colours) and let the children explore.  I also offered them an apple shaped cookie cutter to stamp with.  The children can explore the apple shape as well as colour mixing.  It could easily lead to discussions about how apples are grown, picked and different apple products.
